Saturday 9th April 2008:

Colville Park  1  V  1   Wellhouse AFC. 

This was another great, game a follow on from Saturday, the full 90 minutes was all end to end stuff.  Wellhouse AFC had made 2 good chances within the first 15 minutes with big Marc McDonnille saw himself with a one on one with the big goal keeper on two separate occasions but he missed both chances.  This could have been a great start for Wellhouse AFC.

Colville Park were awarded a soft penalty kick against Brian Duncan as one of the Colville Park players was supposed to have been pushed in the back by Brian when he jumped for a high ball, but the ref gave the penalty kick. Luck was on our side as Paul Burnes dived to his right side and pulled off a great save.  Just after this, Wellhouse AFC had another chance to score a goal but again we failed to take it.

Second half we started the same way we went at them. Greame Watt passed a good ball down the right to Craig Halliday who put a fine pass to Rab Welsh who in turn ran by the full back and reached the bye line and put over a great ball to Craig Halliday to fire home the first goal of the game.  Five minutes later Toni Thomson was put through with only the keeper to beat - he hit the ball with the outside of his foot and the ball looked as if it was going into the goals but hit the inside of the post and went along the bye-line.  Marc McDonnell went for the ball and was hit by the goal keeper, we all thought it was a clear penalty kick but it was not given.  With about 4mins to go Colville Park scored a goal.  Our goal keeper managed to get his fingers to it but the shot was too strong for our keeper to stop it going in the goals. The game ended 1 each.
