M & M Trophy 2nd Round

Wellhouse AFC  2  V  5  Kilsyth.

I think the result flattered Kilsyth a wee bit as Wellhouse AFC created 3 good chances in the first 20 minutes but luck was not on our side.  Things were worse before Wellhouse had even kicked a ball as Paul Burns our goal keeper got injured in the warm up. He picked up a bad ankle injury and Ritchy had to strap his ankle and put an ice packs on it. This accident was noticed by the Kilsyth team and utilised this to their advantage.

Kilsyth were up 2 goals before half time but when the second half started we went out and started to raise our game. Robert Welsh ran into the box and the full back clipped his ankles and we were awarded a penalty kick.  Robert took the kick himself and scored.  We got a free kick about 22yards out and this time Greame Watt hit a great ball right into the penalty box missing everybody including there goal keeper and straight into the back of the net to make it 2 each.

This half seemed to be up until now all Wellhouse AFC but this somehow changed when the Kilsyth winger went down the wing, looked as if he was ready to cross over the ball, looked up again and he seen our goal keeper make the move over to his right so hit a shot low and hard into the other corner which caught our goal keeper flat footed.  His injury did not help and towards the end of the game Kilsyth got another 2 goals -  our players were gutted after this.  The game eventually ended Wellhouse AFC 2-5 Kilsyth.
