Wednesday 15th August 2007:

Steins Thistle  2  V  1  Wellhouse AFC. 

Wellhouse AFC lost their second game of the season and saw Peter Johnstone and Brian Duncan pick up injuries within the first 15 minutes. Peter was kicked in the eye then minutes later a thistle player fell on Brian knocking him out and causing him to nearly swallow his tongue.  With about 30 minutes played we produced a finely worked goal after good play by Robert Frew and Gary who fired over a great ball which was met by Alan Templeton.  Wellhouse AFC should have doubled their lead when Gary ran from his own half to header the ball home after (good work by Alan Templeton) but the referee deemed Gary being offside and chopped it off.  Steins Thistle were awarded a penalty and Neil Drake was unlucky to be shown the red card for a last man tackle although team mate Ricky Tobin was along side him.  Steins scored from the spot and worse was to follow in the closing minutes when Steins netted the winner.
